There is an interesting second-hand clothes stall in Bangor's antiques market on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Mews is good for second-hand books, and second-hand records and CDs can be bought and exchanged at Cob records.

University of Glamorgan students favour John and Marie's restaurant in Pontypridd. The University of Glamorgan has its own second-hand book shop.

In Lampeter the West Wales Bookshop is good for second-hand books.

Pooh's Corner at University College Lampeter has won awards for its meals.

In Exeter students favour the American Diner, for US and Mexican food and large quantities of beer. Herbie's is a cheap vegetarian restaurant and On The Waterfront, a large pizzeria which is inexpensive at certain times of the day.

The Real McCoy in Exeter has an interesting range of second-hand Seventies clothes and there are many charity shops.

Academic books can be bought cheaply at Exeter University's second- hand bookshop.

Swansea has an incredible number of cheap Indian restaurants, especially on St Helens Road. It also has a Mexican restaurant, the Cafi Mambo, and what is alleged to be the only Austrian restaurant in Wales, Mozart's.
