The Electoral Commission is taking forward work to consider votes at 16 following the CYPU's project YVote?YNot? which involved young people in telling the Government, politicians, the electoral commission and the media what turns them off and on to politics. Following a proposal by John Denham, Minister for Young People, supported by ministerial colleagues, the first of these sessions – on youth issues – will take place early in 2003.
