MIKE TYSON has sued his long-time promoter Don King for more than $100m (pounds 60m) for allegedly cheating him.

Tyson, who has completely reorganised his professional life in the last month, filed his suit in the US District Court in Manhattan, alleging that the promoter has cheated him since 1986. Tyson is reportedly facing a $3m tax demand and is currently suspended for biting the ear of Evander Holyfield.

Pernell Whitaker has entered a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility after reportedly failing a drug test last week. Whitaker submitted to the latest test as part of an agreement after failing one following his fight on 17 October against Andrei Pestriaev.

Keith Holmes, the World Boxing Council middleweight champion, has been charged with assault after allegedly attempting to hit a police officer after being pulled over in a routine traffic check in Maryland on Thursday night.
