A headmistress and five teachers at a Blackpool primary school have been suspended while police investigate allegations that a child was locked in a small room as punishment for “challenging behaviour”.

The local authority is attempting to establish whether the concerns about “pupil wellbeing” at Revoe Community Primary School, attended by 400 pupils, reflected wider practices under its head, Cath Woodall.
