Drug case Briton 'to face lesser charge'

A British woman arrested at Bangkok airport for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs may have been carrying hashish and not opium as originally suspected, Thai police said.

Lisa Marie Smith, 20 - daughter of the chief executive of National Mutual Asia, a Hong Kong-based insurance giant - would face a lesser penalty if convicted of smuggling hashish.
