Your support makes all the difference.Two RAF Tornado fighter jets collided in mid-air during a low- level exercise yesterday. The four crew escaped, with two suffering minor injuries.
The Tornado F3 fighters, from 56 Squadron, crashed nine miles north-west of their base at RAF Coningsby, in Lincolnshire. A board of inquiry has been convened. The accident cost the taxpayer pounds 40m.
Stewart Rhodes, who witnessed the crash, said: "I saw the aircraft dodging at a height of about 700 or 800ft. Suddenly I saw a flash. A plane hit the ground and there was a fireball."
