A news in brief item headlined "GPs' whistleblower scheme to be dropped", published on 25 January in the first edition only, inadvertently misrepresented the MPS's position. The pilot schemes have not been abandoned, and while MPS supports these pilots it is strongly opposed to the concept of concerns appearing on a doctor's record. Dr Brown is the Director of Policy and Communications at MPS and not as stated, at the Department of Health.
