RMC makes pounds 40m acquisition

RMC Group has acquired Hargreaves Quarries for pounds 40.6m cash. The operations of Hargreaves are based in Cumbria, Durham, North Yorkshire and Humberside and comprise seven quarries, seven coating plants, six ready-mixed concrete plants, a lime plant, brick plant and road surfacing operations. Hargreaves made profit before tax of pounds 1.7m for the nine months to December.
