Profits soar at Cater Allen

Cater Allen increased profits by 50 per cent to nearly pounds 26m with good performances from stock lending, offshore private banking and its traditional discount house operations. The company raised its dividend for 1994 by 7.8 per cent to 29p. The Lloyds agencies arm failed to return to the black as the company had hoped last year, losing pounds 1.28m against a loss of pounds 1.81m last time.
