Your support makes all the difference.The UK's oil and gas production industry is still setting records decades after the first offshore fields were discovered, Industry and Energy Minister Tim Eggar said yesterday when the 1996 Brown Book was published, setting out oil and gas production industry figures for 1995. Highlights in the Brown Book include:
total oil production at its highest level yet at 130 billion tonnes, up from 127 billion tonnes in 1994; gas production at its highest level yet at 75 billion cubic metres, up from 70 billion cubic metres in 1994; more oil and gas fields in production than ever before, up to 163 at the end of 1995 from 149 at the end of 1994; and total company income for the sector was pounds 18bn, including a record pounds 4bn from the gas production sector.
