Much-loved TV cartoon characters The Tetley Tea Folk are to make a comeback after nearly 10 years off the screens.

Nigel Holland, UK & Africa president for Tata Beverage Group which owns Tetley, said characters such as the Gaffer and Sydney will air in a £9m campaign after Coronation Street starting on 20 September. Mr Holland said he was "public enemy number one" after he axed the folk. The characters will be updated, and one may be "blinged up". Advertising company MCBD is behind the campaign.
