Nothing quite signals the countdown to Christmas like the arrival of Christmas adverts and festive high street food in the same week.

This year Nando's is getting into the festive spirit by launching a selection of Christmas dishes for the first time.

The Portuguese-inspired Christmas meals are set to go on sale from Tuesday November 16 in restaurants across the UK.

The two new dishes are the Peri-Peri Burger and Peri-Orange Wings

The burger will combine flame-grilled boneless chicken thigh and a chicken breast fillet, served on a roll filled with baby spinach and topped off with Christmas-appropriate Peri-Berry chutney.

The Peri-Orange Wings will be similar to Nando’s classic dish but covered in a sticky, sweet glaze with a touch of orange.

Nando’s explained that the wings are intended to share and will be available in plates of three five or ten wings.

This is Nando’s first foray into the Christmas menu market, which is dominated by other restaurant favourites.

Earlier this week, Pret a Manger launched first ever vegan Christmas baguette named ‘Very Merry Christmas Lunch”.

Pret also added two brand new Christmas toasties – French brie & cranberry and ham hock & chutney. Not to mention the introduction of a macaroni cheese chock-full of ham hock and everyone’s seasonal favourite, brussel sprouts.
