Customers can get in line for the devices a week before the official release date

UK network providers EE, Vodafone, Three, O2 and Giffgaff will offer customers the chance to pre-order or pre-register for one of the new smartphones a week before the official release date on 19 September.
EE started taking pre-orders from 8am today. It is offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on contract at the following tariffs:
iPhone 16GB - upfront cost £29.99; monthly payments from £50.99
iPhone 64GB - upfront cost £29.99; monthly payments from £63.99
iPhone 128GB - upfront cost £49.99; monthly payments from £63.99
iPhone 6 Plus 16GB - upfront cost £29.99; monthly payments from £63.99
iPhone 6 Plus 64GB - upfront cost £49.99; monthly payments from £63.99
iPhone 6 Plus 128GB - upfront cost £149.99; monthly payments from £63.99
By comparison, Vodafone is offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the below tariffs:

But people may find the whole process rather tricky – this morning the network providers’ websites were difficult to access, seemingly because of the widespread interest in Apple’s latest offering.
iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, while iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display, both coming with a new Retina HD screen made with ion-strengthened cover glass and available in gold, silver and space gray colours.

Unveiling the new iPhones on Tuesday in Cupertino, California, Chief executive Tim Cook said: “iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the biggest advancements in iPhone history.
“The iPhone is the most loved smartphone in the world with the highest customer satisfaction in the industry and we are making it much better in every way. Only Apple can combine the best hardware, software and services at this unprecedented level and we think customers are going to love it.”
