Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, is leading a trade mission to India next week.
Rolls-Royce, Barclays and private equity group 3i are among the 50 British companies which will be looking to secure work on the tour. The visit is a follow-up to the David Cameron-led mission last July. Bilateral trade with India is currently worth about £11.5bn and there was a 35 per cent rise in UK exports to the country in the 12 months to October.
