Body Shop, which has been suffering from falling sales in the US, has appointed Terry Hartin as chief operating officer to head the American business. Mr Hartin, who is British, joined Body Shop when he sold his cosmetics manufacturer, Costec, to the company in 1991. Body Shop has blamed increased competition and in-store problems for the poor performance.
