The Bank of England is to consider a shake-up of its money market operations after the introduction of the open gilt repo market next January. It will consult on the possibility of using the gilt sale and repurchase agreements in place of its traditional purchases of bills in the money market through the discount houses, Ian Plenderleith, a Bank of England executive director, said.
