TURNOVER AT the top end of the housing market was down 13 per cent in the year to the end of June, according to the estate agent Hamptons. The agent said its own sales were down by 10 per cent.
Average house sale prices in Hamptons' catchment area around London were up 16 per cent to pounds 306,000, lettings increased by 9 per cent, and the company's profits rose by 8 per cent to pounds 4m on an income of pounds 29.4m.
