Weeding out staff with a database

Insurance companies are to set up a database allowing them and their watchdog, the Personal Investment Authority, to check whether independent financial advisers owe them money. Their trade body, the ABI, claimed yesterday the system would help protect consumers by allowing insurers to weed out some of the industry's worst sales staff.
