HOW will road improvements on the outskirts of Leeds affect traffic fumes in the city centre? How might an industrial process in Huddersfield affect water quality 20 miles away? Leeds and Huddersfield universities have won funding of pounds 200,000 from the Science and Engineering Research Council to integrate its air quality, waste, water and traffic computer models into a model of the area that will answer questions about the environmental impact of policy decisions.
