ICI expected to raise American bid

ICI is expected to respond to Sherwin-Williams' trumping of its bid for the US paint manufacturer Grow Group with a higher offer, analysts said yesterday. Sherwin-Williams, America's biggest paint maker, has offered $320m, or $19.50 a share, for Grow, compared with ICI's initial offer last week of $18.10.
