BRITISH LAND has sold the Corn Exchange in the City for pounds 89m to an overseas private client of Strategic Real Estate Advisors. The building, which required a private Act of Parliament before it could be developed in 1996, was bought by British Land in 1980 and is fully let to insurance sector tenants. Strategic Real Estates Advisorshas pounds 310m earmarked for investment in London.
