AH Ball, which lays pipes, deepened taxable losses to £3.7m (£40,000) in six months to 30 September. LPS 40.87p (0.2p). No dividend. Derby Trust is paying a total dividend of 17.71p (14.99p) for the year ended 31 December. NAV per share is 443p (494p).

Seacon Holdings, the ship owner-operator, reported profits down 45 per cent to £938,000 (£1.7m) for year to 30 September. Payout is 2.4p (2.28p).
