Interim results to 30 June Britannia Building Society made pre-tax profits of pounds 46.8m, up from pounds 28.5m. Provisions for bad debt reduced by 22 per cent to pounds 17m.

Heywood Williams made pre-tax profits of pounds 16.1m ( pounds 22.7m). Earnings per share were 10.2p (24.8p). The dividend is 5p (4.5p).

Suter recorded a pre-tax profit of pounds 12m ( pounds 29.6m). EPS were 6.6p (17p) and the interim dividend is 3.5p (3.4p.)

Plasmec made pre-tax profit of pounds 352,000, following a loss of pounds 237,000. EPS were 4.8p (3.6p loss). The interim dividend is 1.5p (0.75p).

Copymore made pre-tax profits of pounds 1.1m ( pounds 758,00). EPS were 6.5p (4.5p). Interim dividend is 2.6p (2.5p).

JIB Group made a pre-tax profit of pounds 13.7m ( pounds 11.7m). EPS were 6.4p (same) and the dividend is unchanged at 2.5p.

Bletchley Motor Group made profits of pounds 1.1m ( pounds 785,000). EPS were 13p (10.9p) and the dividend is 4.75p (5.375p).

Peter Black made pre-tax profits of pounds 12.4m ( pounds 9.1m). EPS 15.6p (11.2p). Dividend is 4.5p (3.7p).

Computer People made profits of pounds 733,000 ( pounds 364,000). EPS 3.4p (1.4p). Dividend is 1p (nil).

Scotia Holdings reduced pre-tax losses to pounds 1.54m ( pounds 2.6m). LPS is 2.5p (6p losses). No dividend.

RPS made pre-tax profits of pounds 525,000 ( pounds 388,000). EPS were 2.9p (2.2pp). The interim dividend is 1.3p (1.1p).

Calderburn made profits before tax of pounds 2.8m ( pounds 1.4m). EPS were 7p (3.6p). Dividend 2.9p (2.8p).

ASW Holdings made pre-tax profits of pounds 700,000 ( pounds 1.5m). EPS were 1.3p (nil). Interim dividend 3p (same).

Expamet International made taxable profits of pounds 2.6m ( pounds 2m). EPS were 2.7p (2.6p). Interim dividend is 1.35p (1.25p).

John Mansfield made taxable profits of pounds 102,000 (loss pounds 36,000). EPS were 0.4p (LPS 0.12p). No dividend.

Other news

Oliver Group made a pre-tax loss of pounds 1.65m for the six months to 1 July (losses pounds 2.2m). LPS is 6.5p (8.9p). No dividend.

Cantors made pre-tax profits of pounds 2.5m for year to 23 April ( pounds 1.7m). EPS 10.3p (6.7p). Final dividend of 3p makes 4p (same).

Haynes Publishing made full-year pre-tax profits of pounds 5m for the period to 31 May ( pounds 3.9m). EPS were 19.6p (17.5p). A final dividend of 5p makes 9p (5.3p).
