Outlook Has Thomas Cook got a chance in hell? Most of the signs show it is out of luck, out of time and outclassed by arch rival TUI Travel.

But the trading update yesterday wasn't awful. In most quarters it was greated with relief.

"Could have been worse", said Nick Batram at Peel Hunt, reflecting the general mood.

Losses in the last three months trebled, but sales are rising. There's a business still in there, if interim chief executive Sam Weihagen can find it. At 13p, the shares might even be worth a dabble. But don't risk the holiday money.
