City File: Ladbroke's announcement expected to herald deals

LADBROKE'S announcement last week that it was buying 70 betting shops in Argentina is expected to herald a series of deals in South America.

Ladbroke is targeting Brazil, Venezuela and Uruguay for expansion in both its hotels and gaming interests. It is confident that the region will prove a strong area of growth.
