Change of mind at NationsBank

NationsBank's vice-chairman and chief financial officer, James Hance, said NationsBank would be interested in talking to Chase Manhattan about a merger. The Wall Street Journal quoted him as saying later that he wished to retract his statements because of Chase's displeasure with them.
