BUSINESS FAILURES are increasing in Britain and Ireland while in the rest of Europe the rate of company collapses is falling, according to figures out today.
The number of companies failing in the three months to the end of September increased by 18 per cent in the UK compared with last year, according to Dun & Bradstreet. In Ireland the number of failures went up 30 per cent. Germany also saw failures increase, by just over 5 per cent, but the rest of Europe saw the rate falling.
