MANAGEMENT GAME IN FINAL STAGE

Finalists in the main Business and Management Game, sponsored by Norwich Union in association with the Independent, are from M&G, KPMG Peat Marwick, South East Essex Sixth Form College, CMAC Microcircuits and Kings Investments, a private London team.

CRIME FEARS

Almost half of the UK's small firms have been victims of some sort of crime, according to a survey of 2,670 firms by the Forum of Private Business. It found that 45 per cent had been affected by crime in the past 12 months.

PROPERTY POPULAR

More than a fifth of fund managers surveyed by Gallup for the brokers Smith New Court are planning to increase their holdings of UK property. The study showed the highest level of interest since the survey began in July 1990.

LLOYD'S RELIEF

Sturge Holdings, the largest underwriting agent in the Lloyd's insurance market, has deferred cash calls totalling pounds 21m in an attempt to help thousands of hard-hit members of syndicates 330, 122, 503, 694 and 498.
