Vanessa Devereux, sister of Richard Branson, has asked me to point out that her gallery at Blenheim Crescent, west London, has not fallen victim to the recession, as I suggested last week. Ms Devereux is still working from there, but intends to mount exhibitions 'in spaces appropriate to individual artists'. Warehouses are the kind of places she has in mind, and she draws a parallel with 'rave' culture, which conjures up the startling image of busloads of ecstatic art lovers tramping through muddy fields at 3am, pursued by PC Plod.
