BRITISH SKY Broadcasting said yesterday that Ian West, managing director of Sky Entertainment, was leaving by mutual consent after more than 10 years with the group.
BSkyB chief executive Tony Ball paid tribute to Mr West, who is departing with immediate effect. "He oversaw the launch of Sky digital and has ensured it has had the fastest growth of any digital platform worldwide. He and I both recognised that with the first year of digital nearly over, he needed new challenges," Mr Ball said. BSkyB refused to reveal the size of Mr West's pay-off.
