BICC shares soar on Wassall stake

SHARES IN BICC soared nearly 17 per cent yesterday to 66.5p after the acquisitive construction group Wassall revealed it had built up a 7 per cent stake in the cable and construction group. In an announcement to the Stock Exchange after the market closed on Thursday, Wassall said it had spent approximately pounds 28.9m building up a 7.35 per cent stake over the past 12 months. Wassall yesterday described the stake as an investment.
