THE NASDAQ moved into record territory on end-of-year buying of technology issues. It rose 24 points to 3,777, ahead of its 3,753.06 record on Friday. But the Dow was down 63 points at 11,193 at midday.
Tech issues, particularly Internet stocks, were again flavour of the day, with the Dow Internet index up by 1.93 per cent. Amazon.com, the Internet retailer, was up 4 per cent after Time magazine named founder Jeff Bezos its Man of the Year.
