MICROSOFT LED the stock market higher yesterday, putting an end to a one-day slump in
hi-tech shares and lifting the Dow Jones industrials.
On Wall Street, the Dow rose 65.15, or 0.6 per cent, to close at 11,225.32, with Microsoft accounting for more than half the gain. Broader stock indicators also closed higher.
The Standard and Poor's 500 rose 10.15 to 1,413.32, and the Nasdaq composite index rose 50.30 to 3,621.96.
