A BIG rally by PC-maker Hewlett-Packard led the Dow Jones back over the 11,000 mark for the first time since September.
The index of 30 shares was up 118 points at 11,002 by midday while Hewlett-Packard soared 10 per cent after posting higher-than-expected quarterly income figures on Wednesday after the markets closed.
Agilent Technologies, which was spun off from HP, jumped to $46 from its initial public offering price of $30.
