BLUE CHIPS ended a quiet session down but off their lows. Footsie closed 8.7 points off at 6,375.2. But supporting shares were much more lively with the mid cap index climbing 7.3 to 6,054.3 and the small cap index stretching to yet another high with a 10.6 gain to 2,816.
