SHARES closed higher for the fifth successive session on the back of Wall Street's resilient response to mixed employment numbers.
The FTSE 100 ended 12.9 up at 6,361.5 after a day dominated by US news. The blue-chip index posted a 75-point fall after the employment data as traders believed the figures would herald a US rate rise. However, when Wall Street opened higher, London reversed the losses, although the undercard was lacklustre.
