LEADING STOCKS were propelled higher by strong institutional demand for the government's index-linked Tracker Fund on its debut.
The Hang Seng index closed up 83.96 points or 0.60 per cent at 14,189.67. Analysts said the market activity was limited to only a few key counters, mirroring the trading pattern on Wall Street in recent sessions.
"It's just a handful of stocks," said Geoff Galbraith at DBS Securities.
