THE BLUE-CHIP Hang Seng Index finished with moderate gains in thin turnover ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy-setting meeting on interest rates. None the less, technology shares gained, led by Hong Kong Telecommunications.
The Hang Seng Index closed up 38.50 points at 12,627. An analyst said: "Investors did not have any concrete commitment ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting. As a result money has been chasing dreams."
