Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Lego's latest thrill-seeking adventure casts its players as professional stuntmen. Their task is to explore the exciting Lego Island in search of employment that will boost their stuntman skills. From high-speed motorbike chases to death-defying parachute jumps, this crazy little title may not be rocket science, but it is fun for all ages.

Chelsea: the Official Management Game, PC-CDROM (Just Football) £19.99 *

Unlike most management sims, this only gives players control of one team – Chealsea. It offers a glimpse of life behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge, allowing would-be managers to buy and sell their way to the top. Unfortunately, despite some innovations, the game is too basic to compete with the likes of Championship Manager 4.

Butt-Ugly Martian Zoom or Doom, PlayStation 2 (Namco) £39.99 **

This humorous racing game takes place in the midst of an intergalactic war between humans and "butt-ugly" Martians. The games main event features an explosive competition with the alien invasion commander awaiting the winner. Alas, although it is cheerfully presented and easy to pick up, the game is tiresome.

Combat Mission 2, PC-CDROM (CDV) £29.99 **

This game takes you, the player, back to the gruelling Eastern front of the Second World War, including the Russian campaign, offering a plethora of soldiers and vehicles from seven nations, numerous multi-player options, smooth graphics and so on. However, the game is tragically hindered by its slow, turn-based battle system, and frustrating loading times.
