Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The awe-inspiring turn-based strategy title is back, and looking bigger and better than ever before. The player's goal is to create either the most developed and complete civilisation, or the most successful aggressor. The mild, superb tweaking in gameplay and graphics make the game harder to complete, easier to get to grips with, and a lot more fun overall.

Amazing Virtual Sea-Monkeys

Pro Evolution Soccer
PlayStation 2
*****
The highly awaited PS 2 version of Konami's blockbuster football title has finally arrived, and lives up to its billing. The gaming options remain unchanged, but the awesome graphics and near-perfect gameplay, controls and match physics makes Pro Evolution Soccer a real match-winner – it's just a shame the commentary is so pitiful.

RE: Code Vernoica X
PlayStation 2
*****
The next chapter in the Resident Evil series finds Claire Redfield fighting for her life as she searches for her lost brother, Chris. Similar to its predecessors, the game is another gore-filled third-person-shooter packed with gorgeous graphics, chilling effects and tricky puzzles. Although it's lacking in ingenuity, the no-nonsense gun-toting approach makes Code Veronica X is a game junkie's dream.
