12 struck off by new regulator
THE NAMES of the 12 firms that failed to apply for membership of the Personal Investment Authority by last Friday's midnight deadline were released by the new regulator yesterday, writes Vivien Goldsmith.
They have been struck off the register of approved firms by the Securities and Investments Board.
A further 63 firms that told their old regulator, Fimbra, they intended to apply to the PIA but whose applications were not received by the deadline are being given a second chance while their situation is investigated.
The deregistered firms with their SIB reference numbers in brackets are: Andrew & May Insurance Services (135805), Anthony R Johnson (135105), Argos Insurance Mortgage & Finance Consultants (136680), Bramley Estates (135601), David Ward & Co (161224), F White & Partners (126046), Financial Services (Anglia) (121721), Index Bond Management (International) (135199) James Langford Independent Financial services (145389), Lesbern Brokers (Life & Pensions) (135200), Stanley Keates & Sons (Financial Services) (134731), WJ Simms (137020).
