A review of powers to impose a lifetime ban on NHS staff who have committed child abuse, rape and murder, was announced last night by Stephen Dorrell, the Secretary of State for Health and Employment.
The Department of Health said last night: "There has been concern over recent months that there is no power to impose life bans on nurses or other staff who have carried out serious offences such as rape, murder or acts of paedophilia." Colin Brown
