Ballot over nurses' pay deal In Brief

Family doctors and nurses are both threatening industrial action in separate battles with the Government over pay.

Unison started proceedings to ballot its members yesterday and launched a campaign for a 3 per cent pay rise for all nurses. Meanwhile, GPs are infuriated by government plans to change their out-of-hours payments and at a meeting yesterday decided to continue with plans for sanctions.
