Flybe passengers can beat the air tax
Regional airline Flybe will pay the Government's air passenger duty departure tax for customers making new bookings online until next Tuesday, 23 April. The "tax rebate" effectively lowers one-way fares by £13, and by £26 on return UK domestic fares. Bookings must be for flights between 1 July 2013 and 25 October 2014. Flybe has set up an online petition at www.flybe.com/taxrebate to complain about the tax.
Train companies' two-for-one deals
Train companies running services into London have launched a range of two-for-one offers at more than 150 attractions in the capital, including theatres, restaurants, galleries, museums, tours and events. The offer is available at favourites such as London Zoo, City Cruises, London Dungeon and St Paul's Cathedral, pictured. You can download and print vouchers (as many as you need) from www.daysoutguide.co.uk and then present the voucher along with valid train tickets at your chosen attraction. The offers will run until 31 October.
