Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Summer savings on rooms

Premier Inns launched its Summer Sunday sale earlier this week, with savings on more than 30,000 weekend getaways in the UK throughout August. Whether you fancy exploring a new city or enjoying a quiet seaside escape, there are still plenty of rooms available, with prices starting at only £29. Visit premierinn.com for more information or to book.

Culinary clearout

Catering equipment retailer Nisbets has a huge sale on at the moment, with more than £3m of savings in its warehouse clearout. There are reductions on everything from chopping boards to chef's jackets and knives, including items from Global, Victorinox, Wusthof Trident and Deglon Sabatier. Nisbets also offers free next day delivery on all orders more than £30, so if you're catering on a budget, Nisbets is the place to go.

Triple-points weekend

This weekend, Nectar are running a huge triple-points promotion on its reward card. Major retailers taking part include BP, Homebase, Hertz and Ford, although Nectar's best known partner Sainsbury's is not involved. Nectar points are given on all purchases no matter what the total cost, and with 18 million registered cardholders nationwide, it looks set to be a bumper weekend for bargain hunters.

Visit Hollywood

This week's top printable voucher entitles customers to 20 per cent off food and drink at London's Planet Hollywood attraction. To take advantage visit http://ind.pn/mYIbtO. Each coupon is valid for up to six people and has no expiry date.

Roadside assistance

If you're planning a road trip it might be worth bearing in mind that motorway service centre Roadchef is offering two-for-one on selected main meals until 30 September. Roadchef operates across the country and is open 24-hours-a-day, 365 days a year, hosting restaurants such as McDonalds and The Burger Company.
