Spotlight: Citibank Flexible Saver Account Issue Six
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. With savings rates still on the up, it is no surprise that Citibank has introduced another issue of its popular Flexible Saver Account.
Available to new Citibank customers, issue six of the Flexible Saver offers a market-leading rate of 3.3 per cent. The rate does include a 12-month bonus however, and, after the first year, it will drop to Citibank's standard variable savings rate of 1 per cent.
This is not a reason to shun the account as all the leading easy access rates include bonuses – you just need to be prepared to move your money once the introductory offer ends.
Another plus is that there are unlimited penalty- free withdrawals. This is something to watch out for when comparing savings accounts as a number of easy access deals restrict the number of withdrawals you can make, or penalise you for taking money out.
The main drawback is that the account is only available to new customers, although there are a number of other highly competitive easy access accounts on the market.
