THE WOOLWICH'S new five-year fix carries a pounds 275 arrangement fee and an early redemption penalty of six months' interest. The society is also offering a three-year fix of 6.95 per cent that carries a pounds 250 arrangement fee and a three months' interest redemption penalty.

Coventry Building Society has launched a 5.99 per cent fix on maximum 70 per cent advances. There is a pounds 225 fee and an early redemption penalty of three months.

Cheltenham & Gloucester is offering a one-year 2 per cent discount off its variable rate - 7.99 per cent - to borrowers with a 25 per cent deposit.
