Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Horror fans are in for a treat this week with the cinematic release of the latest nightmare offering from Wes Craven, Wishmaster. Starring the terrifying likes of Tammy Lauren, Andrew Divoff and Robert Englund (who played Elm Street's own Freddy Krueger), it's the tale of The Djinn, a genie, who is awakened from his 1,000-year sleep to grant wishes which are carried out as extreme acts of violence. The more wishes he grants, the more powerful he becomes and destruction sweeps across LA as he searches for Alexandra Amberson, who woke the Djinn from his slumbers, so that he can fill the earth with his own race. To mark the release of Wishmaster, the London Eye has a number of prizes to give away: the first prize-winner will receive a VHS player and the Wes Craven back catalogue (excluding Wishmaster) on video. Five second prize-winners will each get a Wishmaster jacket, a Wishmaster T-shirt, baseball cap and badge. Five runners-up will receive Wishmaster T-shirts and baseball caps.
For a chance to win, send your name, address and daytime phone no on a postcard to: Wishmaster/Eye offer, Coalition, 12 Barley Mow Passage, London W4 4PH by 12 June. The first cards pulled from the hat will win. Usual Independent Newspapers rules apply.
