The outdoor festival gets a holiday spin this month when it goes on a trip to the seaside. Cornwall's Carlyon Bay is the location for The Beach Festival, a smorgasbord of multicultural activities arranged around a solid music core. The main Open Air stage will showcase Asian Dub Foundation, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Dreadzone, among others, while the indoor Megadog Arena headlines with Basement Jaxx, Eat Static and Laurent Garnier. More music will pound out from the Club and Surfers Against Sewage stages, and you'll be hard put to walk more than a few feet without stumbling across a top-class DJ. All this plus an open-air cinema, cabaret, theatre, a children's area and - oh joy! - flushable toilets!
