Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A leading vacuum manufacturer has released a product designed to make the lives of pet owners easier and hair free.

The UK may be known as a nation of animal lovers but it can be a hassle according to statistics from the Pet Food Manufacturers Association which show that 64 percent of dog owners vacuumed at least once a day compared to a UK average of 28 percent for non dog owners.

In an effort to address this problem vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson released on November 4 the Dyson Groom Tool, a device that can be used directly on man's best friend, removing loose hairs before they fall off. The Dyson Groom Tool retails for around £45 and is currently available in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, and France and will be available in the United States from January. Dyson claim that the device is engineered to remove hair without creating mess due to a unique thumb controlled pressure regulator. The device attaches to the majority of Dyson vacuum cleaners.

A number of other dog vacuuming tools are available to buy on websites such as amazon.com. One of the most popular devices on the site is the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Handheld Vacuum which retails for 19€.

The Dyson Groom Tool will be on display on November 13-14 at London Dog Week which runs from November 8-14. As part of London Dog Week canine trade professionals will be displaying a variety of pet related products at the Discover Dogs show in Earls Court.
